Cookie Policy for topcarcheck.co.uk

Last Updated: November 4, 2026

1. Your choice

ROLeVita Limited uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage, on TopCarCheck. Essential technologies support the service you request. Optional Analytics and Advertising are off until you actively allow them. Continuing to browse, closing a notice or submitting a vehicle check does not give consent.

You can accept all, reject optional tracking or choose categories. Refusing optional tracking does not prevent you from checking a vehicle, signing in, paying or viewing your report. Change or withdraw your choices at any time using .

2. Essential storage

Authentication and security (Clerk), checkout and fraud prevention (Stripe), requested discounts and your cookie choices support the service. They are used as required for those functions.

StoragePurpose and duration
topcarcheck_consentRemembers separate Analytics and Advertising choices, the notice version and decision time for 180 days.
tcc_checkout_ownerAn HttpOnly browser identifier that protects checkout-flow data, for up to 30 days. Active checkout contexts expire after 7 days; new recovery links expire after 30 days. Expired contexts are removed by daily cleanup.
Authentication and security cookiesKeep your account secure and maintain sign-in. Duration depends on the authentication session and provider security settings.
Payment and fraud-prevention cookiesSupport requested checkout and payment security. Stripe describes these in its cookie policy.
voucher; voucherAppliedApply a requested discount for up to 30 days; display its confirmation for up to 60 seconds.

Separately from optional browser analytics, our servers keep daily aggregate counts of requests to partner voucher links and completed checkout milestones. These counts do not set analytics cookies or use browser fingerprints. Checkout records contain temporary deduplication flags so retries do not inflate milestone counts; they expire with the checkout context. Partners can see enabled aggregate figures, not your email, registration, IP address or an individual browsing history. Link opens are not a count of unique people.

3. Optional Analytics

With Analytics consent, Google Analytics measures visits and actions such as starting a check or completing a purchase. It receives technical visit information, sanitized page locations and non-identifying event parameters. Google Tag Manager manages these tags; loading the manager does not itself grant permission to its measurement tags.

Google measurement cookies such as _ga and _ga_* last up to 180 days in our configured setup. Event-level retention is set to 2 months. Browser purchase-deduplication entries beginning tcc_purchase_analytics_ prevent repeat reporting of a transaction and are removed on withdrawal or during a later visit after 180 days.

Traffic Dynamix also uses Analytics consent to count visits, validate traffic quality and understand traffic sources and site activity. When a visit identifier exists, it receives funnel and purchase events. It does not provide remarketing. We do not send events from before you consented.

Traffic Dynamix storagePurpose and duration
tdx_cidLinks visits and site activity for traffic-source and quality analysis for up to 180 days. Before you decide, an incoming identifier is held only in page memory. Rejecting Analytics discards it.
tcc_purchase_analytics_tdx_* local storagePrevents repeat reporting of a purchase to Traffic Dynamix. Removed when Analytics consent is withdrawn or during a later visit after 180 days.

4. Optional Advertising

With Advertising consent, Google Ads uses advertising-click information for conversion attribution. When Analytics consent is also granted, Google Analytics purchase events can be shared with Google Ads to measure campaign results. Microsoft Advertising UET and Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) measure ad results and support relevant advertising, including remarketing. We send selected site events such as viewing the site, starting a check, providing an email, starting checkout and completing a verified purchase. We do not send your email address or vehicle identifiers in these event parameters, and do not send events from before you consented.

Provider / storagePurpose and duration
Google Ads: _gcl_* cookies and _gcl_ls local storagePreserves advertising-click information for conversion attribution. Cookies such as _gcl_aw typically last up to 90 days. Local storage has no browser-enforced expiry; we remove accessible entries when Advertising consent is withdrawn or expired consent is detected on a later visit.
Microsoft: _uetsid, _uetvid and associated local storageAdvertising attribution and measurement. _uetsid typically lasts 1 day and _uetvid up to 13 months. We remove accessible first-party identifiers when you withdraw or when we detect expired consent on a later visit.
Meta: _fbp and _fbcBrowser and advertising-click identifiers used for attribution and remarketing, typically for up to 90 days. These are removed from accessible first-party storage when Advertising consent is withdrawn.
tcc_purchase_advertising_* local storagePrevents repeat reporting of a purchase to advertising destinations. Removed on withdrawal or during a later visit after 180 days.

These providers can also receive technical request information, including IP address and browser information, and describe their processing and retention in their privacy notices. Our site cannot delete cookies belonging to other domains; you can manage those through your browser or the provider.

5. Managing and withdrawing consent

Use to change either category. Withdrawal stops further optional events, removes accessible site tracking identifiers and may refresh the current page to unload tracking scripts. It does not undo processing that occurred with your consent. Consent to cookies is separate from consent to marketing emails.

We request a new choice after 180 days or a material change to our purposes or providers. Old banner acceptance is not treated as permission for this setup. If the browser cannot save or read your preference, optional tracking stays off. Browser settings can also block or remove cookies and local storage, although blocking essential storage can affect sign-in or checkout.

7. Contact and changes
